Overview/Summary:
The CAD Controller is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining all engineering and design documentation for projects and operations for our various clients in the Baton Rouge region. This role ensures accuracy, consistency, version control, and compliance with company drafting standards and document management procedures. The CAD Controller works closely with engineering, project management, maintenance, and operations teams to support efficient execution of projects and ongoing plant activities. This role may involve periodic design work as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and control all CAD drawings, engineering files, and technical documentation.
  • Manage document revisions, updates, approvals, and distribution processes.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, contractors, and project teams to track drawing changes and updates.
  • Organize and archive electronic and hard-copy engineering records.
  • Support project teams by providing accurate and current documentation in a timely manner.
  • Monitor document workflows to ensure proper version control and traceability.
  • Assist in developing and improving document control procedures and CAD standards.
  • Perform quality checks on drawings and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of engineering and operational records.
  • Generate reports and maintain logs related to document status, revisions, and project records.
  • Support audits and compliance reviews related to engineering documentation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Document Control, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in CAD document control, drafting support, or engineering records management preferred.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, chemical, refinery, or plant environments is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or other CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of document control systems and revision management.
  • Experience with electronic document management systems (EDMS).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and data management skills.
