    Job Description

    A DAY IN THE LIFE

    A day in the life as a CAD Designer involves creating and maintaining detailed engineering drawings and layouts that support utility-scale solar and wind energy projects. You'll work closely with engineers and project teams to develop site layouts, electrical and civil drawings, equipment arrangements, and construction documents while ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards. This role plays a key part in transforming engineering concepts into buildable designs that support successful project planning, execution, and delivery.

    STEP INTO THE ROLE

    • Supports estimating and engineering efforts with quantity takeoffs, drafting, modeling, and data analysis. Generates bid quantities and performs takeoffs for bid items. Communicates any discrepancies noticed in the plans and specifications to the estimators/engineers. 
    • Overseas, organizes, and converts incoming CAD/GIS bid data for importing into Autodesk Civil3D, Map3D, ESRI ArcGIS programs or similar type programs. 
    • Tracks design changes and additions/upgrades to all plans include communicating the scope of design changes to the project teams. 
    • Develops knowledge of Renewable Energy industry standards. 

    WHAT YOU’LL NEED

    • Minimum of a two-year technical degree in Drafting and Design – Civil, Electrical, and/or Mechanical or related degree (eg. Computer Science, Engineering Technology, etc), or directly relevant experience in utility scale renewables.

    WHAT SETS YOU APART

    • Previous CAD design or related experience preferred.
    • Proficient computer and technical skills in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (including Excel and Word), Revu Bluebeam.

    $26.41 - $36.32 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
