A bit about us:

A well established precision manufacturing company is seeking a CAD Designer to support the design and development of custom tooling solutions for the plastics and die cast industries. This position will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to develop detailed 3D models and production ready tooling designs in a fast paced environment.

The company is also open to considering recent engineering or design graduates with relevant internship, co-op, or hands on CAD experience who are looking to grow their career in tooling and manufacturing design.

Job Details

Responsibilities

Design plastic injection molds and die cast tooling using CAD software
Develop complete 3D assembly models and detailed 2D drawings
Review customer specifications, engineering data, and tooling requirements
Support production tooling improvements and design enhancements
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and project teams
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving tooling related issues
Maintain engineering documentation and file management standards
Plan and prioritize multiple design projects and daily tasks

Qualifications

Experience with CAD design in a manufacturing, tooling, or engineering environment
Mold, die, tooling, or mechanical design experience preferred
Recent graduates with internship or co-op experience encouraged to apply
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving ability
Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering requirements
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills

Preferred Backgrounds

Plastic injection mold design
Die cast tooling design
Mechanical or manufacturing engineering
Tooling engineering
Precision machining or manufacturing environments
SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD software experience
