This role combines advanced furniture design knowledge in addition to engineering expertise to develop and customize upholstered furniture solutions. The CAD Designer will partner with interior designers and the product development team to translate design intent into technically sound, manufacturable products that uphold the brand's uncompromising standards of craftsmanship, comfort, and aesthetics.Your ResponsibilitiesPartner with interior designers to develop custom furniture solutions, translating design requests into technically viable and manufacturable specificationsLeverage knowledge of furniture construction and vendor networks to develop accurate custom quotesApply knowledge of furniture design principles and engineering to evaluate design feasibility, structural integrity, comfort, and aesthetic intentDevelop detailed SolidWorks CAD models to produce both client facing and technical drawings to support the sale and production of custom furnitureExercise independent judgment when determining construction approaches, dimensional modifications, and engineering solutions required for custom furniture designs.Maintain the technical CAD library and documentation for the Dmitriy & Co collection, ensuring accuracy and alignment with evolving product specifications.Contribute to the development of product specifications, technical standards, and documentation that support the continued growth of the Dmitriy & Co collection.Stay informed on advancements in furniture design, upholstery techniques, and materials to continuously elevate product quality and innovationOur Requirements3+ years of experience in furniture design, product development, or CAD-based engineering, preferably within upholstered furniture manufacturing or equivalent academic trainingProficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, engineering drawings, and parametric designDemonstrated understanding of furniture construction, materials, and manufacturing processesStrong ability to evaluate design concepts and apply professional judgment to determine manufacturable solutionsExperience collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including designers, product developers, and manufacturing partnersProficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign) and standard productivity tools, including Microsoft Office and Google WorkspaceExceptional attention to detail with the ability to balance design intent, engineering requirements, and production feasibilityPhysical RequirementsFrequently sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation and using CAD softwareFrequently use standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, and monitors, for prolonged periodsReview physical materials, drawings, and product samples, including standing or moving within the office or showroom environment as neededOccasionally lift and move product samples or materials weighing up to approximately 25 lbsVisual ability to review detailed drawings, measurements, and specifications both digitally and in printTravel occasionally within the office, showroom, or warehouse to review furniture pieces, prototypes, or materials#J-18808-Ljbffr
