CAD Designer / Drafter

CAD Designer Drafter Thermal Corporation is known for our industry leading customer focused approach to providing innovative commercial and industrial HVAC products. Thermal Corp. manufactures a unique and fully customized line of Air Handling Units. As part of Nailor Industries Group, our primary manufacturing facilities is in Ranking Road in Houston, TX. Nailor Group employs 700+ Operations employees. We are in search of an experienced CAD Designer / Drafter. We are looking for stable, mature, and hardworking individuals. Job Description
  • Detailed oriented, good communication skills, with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Coordinate / Communicate effectively with other members of engineering team during all phases of each task or project given.
  • Team player with good organizational skills with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Provide engineering data when fabrication support projects are required.
  • Ability to apply welding symbols, dimensions, tolerances, etc.
  • Support metal fabrication engineering team by converting 2D part drawings into accurate 3D models, utilizing company established modeling practices.
  • Creating 3D models of new/modified sheet metal designs for inclusion in documentation for Design Engineering purposes.
  • Checking drawing packages for proper layout and dimensioning.
  • Review sales order documentation and support of one or more product lines.
  • Participate in design teams with engineers and other departments. Interface with manufacturing as required for completing design work.
  • Duties occasionally include some building of prototypes for new engineering designs.
  • Complete Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and use databases to manage technical documentation.
Qualifications
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from 2-year College or Technical School.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Proficient in the use of 3D modeling program (Solid Edge a big plus).
  • General knowledge of design, manufacturing, and assembly with sheet metal.
