Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for a CAD Designer III with our large power and utilities client in Cincinnati, OH. This is a 3-year contract with a potential for extension. This is a hybrid position - 3 days a week in office.

Pay:$34.00 - $39.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days/week in office. This role will likely be 30 hours/week. Could work between 30-40 hours depending on the business need.

Description:
Seeking a skilled Designer III to support the preparation and maintenance of engineering drawings for electric utility projects. This role will focus primarily on CAD drafting and design activities related to substation, protection and control, and other electrical engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and designers to develop, revise, and maintain technical drawings while supporting multiple project teams as business needs require.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented drafting professional with strong AutoCAD capabilities and experience producing engineering drawings in a utility, electrical, industrial, or related environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Create, revise, and maintain detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
Support drafting and design efforts for substation and protection & control projects.
Incorporate engineering markups and design changes into existing drawings.
Ensure drawings comply with company standards, specifications, and drafting practices.
Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project teams to support project deliverables.
Maintain drawing files, documentation, and revision records.
Provide drafting support across multiple engineering disciplines as workload demands.
Assist with the development of as-built and record drawings.

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Design, or a related technical field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience using AutoCAD in a professional engineering or design environment.
Experience producing technical drawings, layouts, schematics, or design documentation.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting electric utility, substation, or protection and control projects.
Background in electrical, industrial, or infrastructure design.
Experience with Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling software.
Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering environments and drafting standards.

Work Environment:

Hybrid work arrangement with an expectation of three days onsite per week at the Cincinnati Annex Building.
Minimal to no travel required.
Part-time schedule of approximately 30 hours per week, with potential flexibility based on business needs.
