    Description

    CAD Designer / Product Designer

    Schedule: Monday-Friday

    Location: American Products - 598 Evergreen Strafford MO 65757

    Join a growing American Products Engineering team where your designs directly impact real‑world manufacturing solutions. As a CAD Designer / Product Designer, you'll collaborate with customers, sales, and production to create high‑quality, custom equipment, while helping improve future designs through innovation and expertise.

    What You'll Do

    • Design custom communications enclosures using 3D modeling software
    • Modify existing production designs to meet customer needs
    • Create bills of material, customer drawings, and manufacturing documentation
    • Support design testing and continuous improvement efforts
    • Develop innovative design solutions to improve quality and reduce cost
    • Collaborate with engineering, sales, production, and customers

    What We're Looking For

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
    • Equivalent education and hands‑on experience considered

    Experience & Skills

    • Proficient in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
    • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Syteline a plus)
    • Sheet metal design experience required
    • Stamping dies, jigs, and fixtures experience preferred
    • 2+ years of industrial mechanical engineering experience

    Professional Skills

    • Strong collaboration and communication skills
    • Ability to work professionally with internal teams and customers

    Physical & Safety Requirements

    • Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs, and use hands for detailed work
    • Must wear safety glasses and steel‑toe boots
    • Safety procedures must be followed at all times
