CAD Drafter

This role involves supporting the existing backlog of civil work through drafting primarily in AutoCAD. The drafter will receive sketches from the Senior Drafter to design parameters and scales for the design team, supporting a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from $1 million to $100 million. The ideal candidate will produce high-quality drawings and documentation for civil and architectural projects, with a strong emphasis on building-related drafting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil and architectural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting software.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to develop plans for parking lots, retaining walls, multifamily buildings, office fit-outs, and industrial plant expansions.
• Interpret and apply design standards and specifications.
• Manage and prioritize workload to complete approximately one project per week.
• Maintain organized records of drawings and revisions across 83 active job numbers, 43% of which are civil-based.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency in all drafting deliverables.
• Participate in project meetings.

Essential Skills

• Associate's degree or certification in drafting, civil engineering technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in civil or architectural drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2020 or higher.
• Exposure to Civil 3D and Revit, with understanding of fundamentals.
• Knowledge of structural materials such as steel and concrete.
• Familiarity with construction techniques and documentation.
• Good communication skills.
• Committed work ethic and desire to make drafting a long-term career.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work independently with occasional advice from a supervisor.
• Familiarity with expansion planning.
• Experience drafting for commercial clients and high-value projects.
• Knowledge of permitting and construction documentation standards.

Work Environment

The work environment is in-office with flexibility if needed. Typical hours are 8-5 or 7:30-4. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
