Capital Professional Staffing LLC is conducting a confidential search for a CAD Draftsman / Structural Steel Detailer for a growing industrial fabrication operation located in Tyler, Texas. The company works within structural steel fabrication, construction, energy, industrial, and infrastructure markets.This is a hands-on CAD drafting and detailing position focused on taking structural or fabrication drawings and developing the individual parts, components, and shop drawings needed for fabrication.
Responsibilities- Review structural, fabrication, and technical drawings provided by customers.
- Create and detail individual parts and assemblies using CAD software.
- Develop shop drawings used by the fabrication team.
- Prepare CAD files that can be used by CNC plasma tables, profiling machines, and other CNC fabrication equipment.
- Work with or convert common industry file formats including STEP, DSTV / NC1, IFC, and other structural model formats.
Qualifications- Strong working knowledge of CAD drafting or design software.
- Ability to read and understand structural, fabrication, or industrial drawings.
- Ability to translate drawings into individual parts and components for fabrication.
- SolidWorks experience preferred, but not required.
- AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Tekla, SDS2, or comparable CAD/modeling experience will be considered.
- Structural steel, metal fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or industrial experience is highly desirable.
An engineering degree is not required. The company is open to candidates with varying levels of experience who have strong CAD skills, understand technical drawings, and have the ability to learn and grow into the position.
Schedule & CompensationMonday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM | On-Site in Tyler, TexasCompensation is generally $60,000-$80,000 based on experience, with flexibility to increase for a highly qualified candidate.
