What You’ll Do
As a CAD Operator, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of complex mechanical and electrical systems. You will use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed technical drawings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative products and projects to life. Your precision and creativity will be essential in turning concepts into tangible designs.

- Industrial Process Skids – Per ASME B31 Specifications
- Pump Assemblies
- Pump Skids
- Lift Station Design/Layouts
- Reverse Engineering of Manufactured Parts
Essential Responsibilities
- Support engineering design projects involving a team of process, mechanical, and electrical engineers and designers to develop comprehensive system design packages.
- Prepare and inspect technical documents, including process & instrumentation diagrams, general arrangement drawings, piping isometrics, fabrication drawings, structural and electrical drawings.
- Create and maintain tables associated with drawings, i.e,. line lists, tie point tables, equipment lists, bills of material, etc.
- Technical coordination with all disciplines related to the engineering effort.
- Participate in and/or lead design reviews.
- Assist with fabrication and/or construction activities, as required.
- Create as-built systems and incorporate them into record drawings.
- Learn and understand the technical products that Cogent delivers to our customers.
- Possess general knowledge of procedures and practices required to execute projects in a global environment.
- Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.
- Travel as needed. May occasionally make trips to job sites or offsite trainings.
Skills & Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to satisfactorily perform each duty and responsibility listed in the essential responsibilities portion of this posting. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- 2-3 years' experience in a related field to process skid design (Preferred)
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor or other 3D CAD software
- Familiarity with ASME B 31.1,31.3,31.4, ASME Section IX, and AWS D1.1 and AISC (Preferred)
- Proficient computer skills; Microsoft Office software
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Must be a self-starter with a good work ethic and sense of urgency
- Effective verbal and written communication skills (must be able to communicate effectively with individuals inside and outside the company at all levels)
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
