CAD Project Technician Utility/Mechanical

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated CAD Technician to join our Water/Wastewater Services Department. The role involves working on linear pipeline projects, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewers, as well as mechanical piping systems for sewage pump stations, wastewater treatment plants, water treatment, and booster stations. Additionally, you will support our Municipal Services Department on public works projects.

Responsibilities

• Create base plans and manipulate surfaces for linear and site-oriented projects.
• Develop complete drawing sets.
• Design alignments and profiles for pipeline projects.
• Draft mechanical piping layouts and create section views and details.
• Identify drawing issues and recommend solutions.
• Communicate with department staff on project status to maintain schedules.
• Assist engineering staff with CAD issues.
• Collaborate with other CAD staff to develop procedures and troubleshoot software issues.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of working with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• 10 years of related utility pipeline experience.
• Ability to create and manipulate surfaces.
• Proficient in creating drawing sets following US National CAD and Company Standards.
• Experience in creating pipeline alignments and profiles.
• AutoCAD Pipes Routine experience is a plus.
• Survey data integration using Autoline is a plus.
• Ability to assemble mechanical piping systems from published data is a plus.
• Ability to create building plans, sections, elevations, and details is a plus.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Desire and ability to learn new technologies.
• Self-motivated, team player.
