Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CAD Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of complex and challenging projects, where you will be responsible for creating detailed designs and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AutoCAD with preference to those with Microstation/Geopak, bridge design, and rebar detailing experience. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, along with the chance to grow and advance within a leading engineering firm.

Responsibilities:
As a CAD Technician, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Using CAD software, to produce detailed designs and technical drawings for engineering projects.
2. Collaborating with engineers and other professionals to understand project requirements and translate these into detailed technical plans.
3. Designing and detailing bridge structures, including the preparation of rebar detailing plans.
4. Checking and verifying design drawings to adhere to specifications and design data.
5. Participating in project meetings and providing technical support to the engineering team.
6. Ensuring all drawings and designs meet quality and safety standards.
7. Managing and coordinating with other CAD Technicians on the team to ensure project deadlines are met.
8. Continuously updating knowledge and staying current with new technologies and CAD software advancements.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate for the CAD Technician role will have:

1. A degree in drafting or a related field preferred.
2. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role within the engineering industry.
3. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
4. Proven experience in bridge design and rebar detailing.
5. Excellent technical drawing skills with great attention to detail.
6. Strong knowledge of engineering design principles and construction methods.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. The ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
10. A proactive approach to learning and developing new skills.
