    CADC Program Director

    Location: Los Angeles, CA
    Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Setting: Behavioral Health / Substance Use Disorder Treatment

    Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CADC Program Director to join our team in a unique, non-traditional leadership role supporting multiple behavioral health and substance use treatment programs.

This is not a typical Program Director position tied to one facility. Instead, you will function in a proxy Program Director capacity, working with various detox, residential, PHP, and IOP treatment centers to support their day-to-day operational, staffing, and program needs.

The ideal candidate has strong experience working with the substance use disorder population, understands the operational demands of behavioral health treatment facilities, and is comfortable stepping into different environments to provide leadership, staffing support, scheduling assistance, and group facilitation.

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as a proxy Program Director for multiple behavioral health and substance use treatment facilities.
    • Support facilities with recruiting, interviewing, staffing, and hiring needs.
    • Assist with staff scheduling, shift coverage, and overall workforce coordination.
    • Work closely with facility leadership to identify operational and staffing gaps.
    • Provide support with day-to-day program operations and directorial responsibilities.
    • Facilitate psychoeducational, recovery-focused, and substance use disorder groups as needed.
    • Maintain familiarity with detox, residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care.
    • Support communication between clinical, operations, and support staff.
    • Assist facilities in maintaining organized and efficient program operations.
    • Utilize KIPU for documentation, scheduling, client-related workflows, and other operational needs.
    • Help ensure staffing and programming needs are addressed quickly and professionally.
    • Build strong relationships with facility leadership, employees, and behavioral health professionals.

    Qualifications

    • Active CADC, SUDCC, CATC, or equivalent substance use counseling credential required.
    • Prior experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
    • Strong familiarity with detox, residential, PHP, and IOP treatment settings.
    • Experience with KIPU required.
    • Previous experience in program leadership, operations, staffing, case management, counseling, or a similar behavioral health role strongly preferred.
    • Experience recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, or scheduling behavioral health staff is highly desirable.
    • Comfortable facilitating groups for individuals in substance use and dual-diagnosis treatment.
    • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities across multiple facilities and programs.
    • Comfortable adjusting quickly to different treatment environments, teams, and operational needs.
    • Reliable, professional, and able to take ownership of problems from identification through resolution.

    Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate understands behavioral health treatment from both an operational and client-care perspective. You may have previously worked as a Program Director, Case Manager, SUD Counselor, Lead Counselor, Operations Manager, or in another leadership capacity within a substance use treatment program.

You should be comfortable walking into a detox, residential, PHP, or IOP program, quickly understanding what the facility needs, and helping leadership solve staffing, scheduling, programming, and operational challenges.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SUD professional who enjoys variety, leadership, problem-solving, and working with multiple treatment organizations rather than being limited to the operations of a single facility.
