Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Department of Counseling, Cadet Resilience and Performance Coach- Graduate Assistant. Serves as a Graduate Assistant within the Department of Counseling in support of the Corps of Cadets and Cadet Leadership Academy by promoting cadet resilience, well-being, leader development, and academic success. Assists with educational programming, developmental coaching, outreach initiatives, and wellness activities designed to enhance cadet performance and connect students with appropriate university resources.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing resilience, wellness, and leadership development initiatives supporting Corps of Cadets programming and Cadet Leadership Academy events.
  • Provide developmental coaching and peer mentoring to cadets on stress management, time management, communication, leadership challenges, academic success, and personal growth.
  • Support major Cadet Leadership Academy programs including FROG Week, CBLC, CALC, and other leadership development activities as assigned.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops, educational sessions, and outreach activities focused on resilience, wellness, mental health awareness, and human performance.
  • Maintain scheduled office hours and assist with connecting cadets to Counseling Services and other campus resources when appropriate.
  • Assist with program planning, assessment efforts, data collection, and administrative support to evaluate effectiveness of resilience initiatives.
  • Participate in supervision meetings, professional development activities, and perform other duties as assigned by the Department of Counseling.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard university technology platforms.

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to establish rapport and work effectively with college-aged students. Knowledge of or interest in resilience, wellness, leadership development, counseling, or human performance.

  • Ability to facilitate educational programming and group discussions. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, Corps leadership, and student leaders.

  • Must maintain eligibility for Graduate Assistant employment under University of North Georgia policies.

  • Must maintain good academic standing throughout appointment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Must maintain enrollment and good standing in the University of North Georgia Master of Science in Counseling program.
  • No prior professional experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in student leadership, peer mentoring, coaching, counseling, athletics, ROTC, military environments, or related developmental settings is preferred.
