Description
The Café General Manager (GM) oversees all aspects of café operations, including hiring, training,
scheduling, team leadership, inventory management, profit and loss, hospitality, and food safety. This
role demands a strong commitment to quality, teamwork, and collaboration. The General Manager drives
financial success through effective leadership and hands-on coaching. This is an on-site position
requiring a minimum of 45 hours per week.
About the role
- Achieve sales, cost of goods (COGs), labor, and operational targets.
- Build and nurture a highly skilled team.
- Accurately execute inventory management, invoicing, payroll, and scheduling.
- Maintain and uphold food and beverage quality standards with a focus on food safety.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment, addressing equipment issues and budget
- adherence.
- Stay informed on hospitality trends, food innovations, and specialty coffee.
- Implement Ascension Coffee standards as directed by Brand Leadership.
- Drive café-level sales through exceptional service, merchandising, and local marketing events.
- Promote passion, engagement, and a positive team culture.
- Receive and apply feedback effectively, demonstrating adaptability.
- Build strong interpersonal connections with team members of all skill levels.
- Communicate clearly and effectively to inspire and align teams.
- Foster an inclusive, high-quality café culture through thoughtful leadership.
Qualifications
- F&B leadership experience required.
- Specialty coffee experience is a plus.
- Reliable transportation with the ability to travel between locations.
- Availability for nights and weekends.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and resourcefulness.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to take direction.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (~8 hours per shift).
