Oversee the daily operations of the cafe, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth staff
operations, and consistent adherence to Kosher rules, safety and sanitation standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage daily cafe operations and lead front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Opening and closing responsibilities, including reconciliation and cash-outs.
- Supervise staff scheduling and performance; provide training and onboarding.
- Manage inventory and vendor relations. Place orders and control food and beverage costs.
- Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards (ServSafe oversight).
- Follow institutionally applicable dietary guidelines.
- Oversee food preparation, batch cooking, and light cooking as needed (sandwiches, salads, soups, baked goods, grab‐and‐go items)
- Ensure consistency in food, beverage, and presentation standards.
- Build relationships with regular customers and the local community.
- Handle customer feedback with care and professionalism.
- Develop and implement menu items and specials
