Job DescriptionReports To: Director of Cafe SystemsDepartment: Information TechnologyFLSA Status: Executive/ExemptPosition Summary:This individual is responsible for managing the technical infrastructure that supports Au Bon Pain's café and corporate operations. The scope of responsibility includes telecommunications; networking (both local area and wide area); server management; desktop management; café infrastructure including POS, back office, communication equipment and peripheral devices; new/remodel café opening.Responsibilities:Perform complex systems analysis translating business requirements into technical solutions.Engage with the business to understand their architectural needs and gather technical requirements.Responsible for defining the overall POS architecture and high-level design.Participate in the change management process and provide architectural consulting experience to system analysts and architects to evaluate projects from a technical stance, ensuring that the development methods used are in line with the infrastructure capability.Develop and certify business solutions that include registers, controllers, pin-pads, self-checkouts, and cashier touch screens.Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.Assist project management team with technical project planning, including overseeing system design, development, and quality assurance.Adhere to the IT release management guidelines to ensure smooth release of new patches and updates to the applications in close coordination with the stakeholders.Interface with other areas in information systems and stakeholder departments to support existing production systems and to develop and implement new systems.Continually evaluate strategic products and solutions and make buy vs. build decisions and communicate findings to management.Maintain constructive relationships with the suppliers to allow effective and productive evaluation of supplier offerings against business requirements, constraints and priorities.Work with suppliers to understand their roadmap and upcoming capabilities.Participate in root cause, problem and solution analysis.Conduct impact of planned activities on performance, capacity and availability of systems.Ensure systems are compliant with all governmental and industry regulations (PCI, SOX, HIPAA).Research/keep updated with latest industry trends.Provide 24x7 on-call support of production systems.QualificationsRequirements:Abilities, certifications and 10+ years experience analyzing, designing, integrating, and implementing POS solutions.Knowledge of and skilled in systems analysis, logic diagramming, test debugging, system software, systems testing, systems implementation, hardware computer operations and documentation standards.Experience developing and configuring Server 2003, IBM 4690 OS, IBM Supermarket Application, IBM SurePOS ACE Application, IBM Data Integration Facility, IBM Store Integrator, and Retalix Storeline.Application preferred. Knowledge of administration tasks for MS Server 2003 and IBM 4690 V6R2 in a highly available and high volume environment.Strong SQL and XML skills.Knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts.Share technical knowledge and clearly communicate technical concepts.Experience with process and controls surrounding enterprise compliance of Payment Card Industry (PCI )and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) standards.Possess excellent technical leadership skills.Inquisitive, responsible, conscientious and possess a passion for excellencePossess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to develop integration patterns, processes, and standards for messaging.Qualifications:A minimum of 6-8 years experience as a senior level IT executive within a technology support organization supporting a distributed environment, preferably in the restaurant industry.Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology or related field.In-depth knowledge and hands‑on experience managing the technology support function.Prior experience negotiating and managing vendor/outsource relationships.Proven experience and detailed knowledge of technology and vendors in the infrastructure field.A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.Focus on information technology process and project management principles.#J-18808-Ljbffr
