Job Summary
Supports daily food service operations by assisting with food preparation, customer service, and maintaining a clean and safe dining environment.
Works closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service and a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist cooks with meal preparation, including cutting, peeling, and slicing ingredients
- Prepare simple food items such as salads and desserts
- Plate and serve meals as directed by kitchen staff
- Take customer orders, accommodate special requests, and deliver food in a timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service, respond to questions, and address concerns promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of dining and service areas, including clearing tables and managing waste
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment in accordance with sanitation standards
- Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines to ensure food quality and prevent contamination
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of food service operations, including line set-up and temperature control standards
- Knowledge of food preparation methods, presentation techniques, and quality expectations
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions with attention to detail
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Ability to understand and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use sanitation supplies
- Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy objects as required
- Basic knowledge of inventory control and ordering of supplies and equipment
- Skill in preparing and cooking a variety of food items in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently
