Make a Difference in a Child’s Day

As a Cafeteria Attendant, you will help prepare and serve meals to students while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming cafeteria environment.

This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, organized, enjoys working with others, and takes pride in helping students have a positive meal experience.

Responsibilities

  • Heat and prepare meals according to established instructions
  • Serve meals to students in a friendly and professional manner
  • Package individual servings of fruits, vegetables, and dry goods
  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Keep counters, serving areas, equipment, and workspaces clean and orderly
  • Properly use and care for food service equipment
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food and supplies
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude around students and school staff
  • Complete other cafeteria duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Prior food service experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Comfortable working around children and school staff
  • Must be able to pass an FBI/BCI background check

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver items weighing approximately 30–50 pounds
  • Ability to perform routine food service and cleaning duties
