DESCRIPTION

  • Directs and oversees the preparation and service of food in the kitchen for all food service employees at their assigned school(s).
  • Provides breakfast, lunch, ala carte and catering points of service.
  • Supervises all food service employees.
  • Works as part of a team; able to supervise and direct employee(s) to perform assigned duties.
  • Completes employee performance reviews. Assists with the hiring process and performs disciplinary actions as necessary. Trains staff as needed.
  • Maintains high standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen; servicing areas as set forth by the Oakland County Health Department, OSHA/MIOSHA and HACCP.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or equivalent field of study.
  • Successful experience in quantity food production and meal preparation in a school, institution, or commercial business. Management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate industrial/institutional kitchen equipment and related safe food handling and sanitation.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated skills in ordering food and supplies, inventory control, and menu planning.
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships. Team leadership skills and ability to work cooperatively with students, staff and parents.
  • Successfully complete ServeSafe and Allergen certifications within 90 days of hire date OR provide a copy of current certificates.
  • Maintains regular attendance, punctuality, and dependability.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting procedures.
  • Social media and marketing knowledge are preferred.
  • Previous experience with all aspects of customer service.

SALARY/SCHEDULE

  • $20.00 per hour
  • Monday â Friday
  • 6:00 am - 2:00 pm
  • Off during summer and school breaks
