2025 - 2026 School YearBridgeport Public SchoolsHuman Resources Department45 Lyon Terrace, Room 324Bridgeport, CT 06604JOB OPENINGCAFETERIA UTILITY ASSISTANTBOE NUTRITION CENTERSALARY: $16.35 PER HOUR/18.75 HOURS PER WK/42 WEEKSPart-time positionDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* Wash and sanitize all dishware, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment following safety and health protocols.* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing station and utility areas.* Empty garbage and recycling bins regularly; assist with proper waste disposal.* Support the food service team by transporting clean trays, dishes, and utensils to serving areas.* Help receive, unpack, and store kitchen supplies and deliveries as needed.* Refill handwashing and sanitation supplies (soap, paper towels, sanitizing solution).* Maintain cleanliness of floors by sweeping, spot mopping, and ensuring no slip hazards in utility and dishwashing areas.* Lift boxes, trays, and crates of dishes or supplies as required.* Comply with all local and state health regulations and district policies.* Perform additional duties as assigned by the kitchen lead or manager.Additional duties as necessary. be advised that this list does not encompass all duties required and employee must be able to perform any.This job description is not, nor is it intended to be, a complete statement of all duties, functions, responsibilities, qualifications, physical, and cognitive, which comprise this position.
