Position Description
POSITION TITLE: Cafeteria Worker
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current TB test
- Food Safety Certification
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Ability to accurately count, weigh, and measure
- Ability to follow instructions and take initiative in performance of assigned tasks
- Physical ability to walk, stoop, stand, twist, and squat on a constant basis
- Lift a minimum of 25 pounds
Environmental Requirements
- Must work in a hot, humid environment
- Must work in a cold or below zero environment for short periods
Reports To
- Cafeteria Manager
- Building Administrator
Terms of Employment
- Daily contracted services for the current school year
Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrate an interest in objectives of the School Nutrition Program and have a concern for the welfare of children
- Interact with staff, students, faculty, visitors, and co-workers in a pleasant and professional manner
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, holding service, and storage of left-overs
- Adhere to all HACCP guidelines
Other Job Functions
- Report to work at scheduled time with proper uniform and appropriately groomed
- Adhere to all school district and building rules and regulations
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and seminars as scheduled
- Complete other tasks as assigned
