Café Sales Associate - The Orangery

Summary: The Café Sales Associate is responsible for delivering high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items in a fast-paced hotel environment. This role is guest-facing and plays a key part in creating a welcoming first impression for hotel guests while maintaining speed, consistency, cleanliness, and excellent service standards.

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday Breakfast & Lunch Service. Banquets and private events are expected to occur on weekends. 

Responsibilities: 

• Greet guests promptly and courteously, providing friendly and efficient service
• Prepare espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and specialty beverages according to brand  and hotel standards
• Prepare and serve grab-and-go food items, pastries, and light snacks 
• Upsell menu items, promotions, and retail products when appropriate 
• Handle guest questions, requests, and concerns in a professional manner 
• Monitor product freshness and rotate items following food safety guidelines 
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning 
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) system accurately 
• Handle cash, credit, and room charge transactions responsibly 
• Balance cash drawer and follow all cash-handling procedures 
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked café and service area 
• Clean coffee machines, grinders, counters, and equipment throughout the shift
• Restock supplies and notify supervisors of low inventory 
• Assist with opening and closing duties as scheduled 
• Work collaboratively with food & beverage team members 

Must-Haves: 

• Previous barista, café, or quick-service food experience
• Knowledge of espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, teas, and specialty beverages
• Experience with POS and proper cash/credit handling
• Understanding of food safety and health regulations 
• Customer-centric attitude
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects. 
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
