Description

Job Title

Responsibilities

  • Calculate, review, and calendar state, federal, appellate, Office of Administration Hearing, and other litigation deadlines in the firm's calendar/docketing system
  • Review and process incoming and outgoing mail, emails, faxes, and e-filingsto ensure all critical deadlines are accurately calendared
  • Maintain case matter lists and personnel assignments to ensure accurate Outlook calendar integration
  • Create, update, and distribute calendar reports, hearing schedules, and deadline notifications
  • Respond promptly to attorney, timekeeper, and legal assistant inquiries regarding calendaring matters
  • Monitor and maintain the accuracy of all calendaring deadlines and case-related events
  • Research hearings, deadlines, and court information using state and federal court websites as needed
  • Support ongoing docketing operations while ensuring compliance with applicable court rules and procedures

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of law firm experience required
  • Strong knowledge of appellate, federal, state, and local court rules, procedures, and litigation terminology
  • Experience using legal calendar/docketing software; CompuLaw experience preferred
  • Ability to calculate and manage complex litigation deadlines accurately
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal support team

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Fully on-site role with regular in-office attendance
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs (files, mail bins, office supplies)
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and movement throughout the office
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based and clerical tasks
  • Prolonged use of computers, typing, and screen exposure
  • Operation of standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, printers, and multi-line phones)
  • Standard 40-hour workweek with occasional overtime as required
