Calender Operator – Plastics Manufacturing (Production Line Operator) Summary/Objective The Calender Operator sets up, monitors, and adjusts equipment used to manufacture high-performance thermoplastic sheet to ensure product quality and efficient production. This role is responsible for controlling process settings, inspecting material, troubleshooting equipment issues, and documenting production results. Calender Operators work closely with associated production, quality, and maintenance teams to safely produce material that meets customer specifications. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job in a manufacturing setting, the employee is frequently exposed to heat and moving mechanical parts. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must stand 8-12 hours per day and is occasionally required to bend, squat, climb, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shift. Additional hours during the week or on weekends may be required according to production demands. Supervisory Responsibility This position requires no supervisory responsibility.
