Role Title: Calibration Developer - Tools and Automation Engineer - XR Calibration Location: San Jose, CA (100% onsite)
Job Description: Join our cutting-edge XR Calibration team and play a crucial role in shaping the future of Android XR experiences! We're seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Engineer to focus on testing application software used to collect and process a wide range of calibration sensor data. You'll work with exciting technologies like collaborative robot arms and Client prototype sensors, ensuring the quality and reliability of Android applications that drive unique UI experiences, interact with firmware and low-level drivers, and feed data into processing pipelines.
In this role, you will be a champion for quality, collaborating closely with developers, program managers, and other quality engineers to identify, analyze, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Develop robust and repeatable automated testing solutions.
Analyze application deployment contexts to identify potential failure points.
Author comprehensive test plans covering all functionalities and edge cases.
Execute manual and automated tests on diverse hardware and software configurations.
Champion quality from the early stages of development through the entire project lifecycle.
Document test cases and code used for test execution.
Track performance, report results to management, and drive issue resolution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure complete test coverage and a flawless user experience.
Develop innovative tools, fixtures, and methodologies to stress-test software features.
Partner with the development team to quickly understand new applications, break them down into functional parts, and identify potential weaknesses.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven experience with Python automation frameworks.
Strong software development/test automation skills, with high proficiency in Python.
Good hands on experience
Preferred Qualifications:
BS degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
Track record of shipping high-quality consumer products.
Worked on robot arm project is a plus
Familiarity with continuous integration and scheduling systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Passion for quality and a knack for breaking things through creative testing.
Ability to thrive in dynamic environments with rapid project schedules, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
Drive to innovate, experiment, and continuously improve testing methods.
