Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Calibration Technician - Level 2 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The Calibration Technician 2 is distinguished by demonstrated competence in independently developing and executing unique measurements, repairing and calibrating a wide variety of equipment in different disciplines, and detecting and resolving difficult problems. Independently services, repairs and calibrates test and measuring equipment which fail to respond to normal diagnostic and corrective practice.

Develops diagnostic techniques and adapts equipment to accomplish necessary repairs and measurements. Adapts measuring equipment, standards and techniques to accomplish unique measurements beyond their routine uses.

Documents procedures, methods and systems for performing measurements. Assists equipment users in devising methods and procedures for obtaining measurements and may be required to operate the equipment/systems for unique or difficult measurements.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will:

• Calibrate electronic test‑measuring and signal‑generating equipment to meet established standards.
• Test, adjust, and maintain electrical, electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro‑mechanical, and pressure‑type instruments.
• Set up calibration sequences, methods, and procedures using detailed specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
• Disassemble, clean, repair, and replace defective parts on test equipment (e.g., pressure gauges, tension meters).
• Monitor and verify quality using statistical process control or other control procedures.
• Independently develop and execute unique measurements; adapt equipment and standards for non‑routine tasks.
• Diagnose and repair equipment that fails standard diagnostic and corrective practices.
• Create and refine diagnostic techniques; modify equipment to achieve required repairs and measurements.
• Document procedures, methods, and systems for performing measurements; maintain accurate calibration records.
• Assist equipment users in developing methods and procedures for obtaining accurate measurements, including operation of equipment for complex or difficult tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance and SCI
• Experience in calibration lab setting: DC/Low Frequency

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMEL or pre-engineering education (with degree or certification) and three (3) years
• Dc/Low Frequency experience in metrology functions.
• Demonstrated experience in progressively more complicated calibration and maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision measuring equipment and calibration systems.
• Knowledge of measurement theory application and processes in more than one discipline.
• Active SCI Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate''s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
