Job Title: Electronics Technician (Graveyard Shift)Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for a highly skilled electronics technician with a strong technical background to join a service-focused team. The technician tests, calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs instruments and systems returned for service or repair, typically in areas such as service support and metrology. The position requires troubleshooting down to the component level and supporting high-quality, reliable measurement and test equipment performance for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations using various primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) according to prescribed work instructions.
  • Prepare all required calibration and service documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
  • Analyze calibration data and identify trends, communicating findings to the appropriate individuals or departments to support customer satisfaction.
  • Escalate unusual or complex product issues to the appropriate department for further investigation and resolution.
  • Maintain all standards and M&TE in proper working condition, ensuring they are available, accurate, and compliant with applicable procedures.
  • Work in a laboratory setting to analyze and troubleshoot measurement equipment or components returned to the service center by customers.
  • Perform repairs, resolve technical problems, and carry out maintenance services on electronic measurement equipment and related components.
  • Troubleshoot electronic and electrical issues down to the component level using appropriate test equipment and lab tools.
  • Follow established work instructions, quality procedures, and safety practices while performing all technical tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of service activities.

Essential Skills

  • Associate degree in Science with a focus in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience, or a bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience gained through education or practical work in electronics or electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to the component level using electronic test equipment and laboratory tools.
  • Understanding of basic metrology concepts, with familiarity with ISO-related practices preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration.
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily work activities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and meticulous work habits in a lab and service environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and contribute positively to group objectives.
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn, adapt, and succeed in a technical service environment.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment and lab equipment for troubleshooting, calibration, and repair.
  • Practical skills in troubleshooting electronics, electrical systems, mechanical components, and calibration tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting electronic test equipment in a service or laboratory environment.
  • At least 6 months of experience using automated test systems.
  • Soldering experience for repair and rework at the component level.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and metrology practices.
  • background or coursework in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that supports collaboration and customer-focused service.

Work Environment

This position is based in a laboratory environment at the 75th Street lab, working primarily with measurement and test equipment, electronic instruments, and calibration standards. The role is scheduled for the third shift, Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., providing a consistent graveyard shift work pattern. During the first two months, training occurs on a second-shift schedule from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The work involves hands-on tasks with lab equipment, test instruments, and electronic components, and requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The environment emphasizes precision, safety, and adherence to procedures, with a collaborative team culture focused on quality service and continuous learning.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.40 - $32.40/hr.
