    Description

This position is a key member of the Instrumentation Calibration and Metrology Group at our new Semi manufacturing facility. You will support production validation, quality assurance, and reliability testing of the Tesla Semi and future vehicle platforms. The role ensures the accuracy and traceability of all test and measurement equipment used in-house and at external labs. You will calibrate instruments critical to semiconductor-grade precision in automotive manufacturing, maintain calibration systems, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

    • Perform in-house calibrations of dimensional, electrical, force, pressure, temperature, and environmental measurement devices by comparing against traceable standards.
    • Conduct performance and reliability calibration tests on mechanical, structural, and electro-mechanical equipment.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with measurement systems by interpreting datasheets, calibration certificates, and manufacturer specifications.
    • Produce clear calibration records and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.
    • Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and required equipment updates.
    • Coordinate onsite and external calibrations with vendors.
    • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with cross-functional teams.

    Requirements:

    • 2 years of experience in a calibration environment with formal electronics training or equivalent experience.
    • Strong understanding of measurement principles, uncertainty, and traceability.
    • Proficiency with common calibration disciplines including:
    • Dimensional Measurement Equipment (DCL)
    • Low Frequency AC/DC
    • High Voltage
    • Mass/Force Measurement
    • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, or ANSI/NSL Z540 standards.
    • Competency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with measurement systems.
    • Proficient with MS Office tools, Adobe products, and project management software such as JIRA.
    • Demonstrated independent professional with the capability to handle several tasks with minimal supervision.
