Job Title: Electronics Technician (Swing Shift)
Job Description
This role suits a highly skilled electronics technician with a strong technical background who will calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instruments and systems returned for service. The technician works in a lab environment, performing detailed component-level diagnostics and repairs, ensuring accurate calibrations, and maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Perform precise calibrations using various primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in accordance with prescribed work instructions.
- Prepare all required documentation for calibrations and repairs and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Analyze calibration data, identify trends, and communicate findings to the appropriate departments to support product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Escalate unusual or complex product issues to the appropriate department for further investigation and resolution.
- Maintain all standards and M&TE in proper working condition, ensuring they are available, accurate, and compliant with procedures.
- Work in a lab setting to analyze and troubleshoot measurement equipment or components returned to the service center by customers.
- Perform component-level repairs, resolve technical problems, and carry out maintenance services on electronic and electrical test equipment.
- Apply electrical, electronic, mechanical, and calibration knowledge to diagnose issues efficiently and accurately.
- Follow established safety, quality, and procedural guidelines while working on instruments and systems.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely completion of service work and continuous improvement of processes.
Essential Skills
- Associate of Science degree with a focus in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another technical discipline.
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience gained through education or practical work in electronics or electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot to component level on electronic instruments and systems.
- Understanding of basic metrology concepts, including calibration principles and standards (ISO knowledge preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to document work clearly and communicate issues effectively.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs to handle instruments, equipment, and components.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and meticulous work habits when performing calibrations and repairs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and collaborate with colleagues in a lab and service environment.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn, adapt, and succeed in a technical role.
- Proficiency with troubleshooting electronics, electrical systems, and test equipment in a lab setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting electronic test equipment in a service or lab environment.
- At least 6 months of experience using automated test systems.
- Soldering experience for component-level repair and rework.
- Familiarity with ISO-related metrology and calibration practices.
- Exposure to electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or related technical disciplines through coursework or prior roles.
- Experience working with mechanical and lab equipment in support of calibration and repair activities.
Work Environment
This position is based in a lab and service center environment that focuses on calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic measurement equipment and systems. The role operates on a swing shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the first two months dedicated to training on a 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. schedule. The technician works with primary standards, measurement and test equipment, electronic test equipment, automated test systems, and various lab instruments. The environment emphasizes precision, adherence to procedures, and safe handling of electronic and mechanical components. Work may involve standing for extended periods and routinely lifting equipment up to 50 lbs, while collaborating closely with a team-oriented group of technicians and engineers.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.40 - $32.40/hr.
