Job Title: Electronics Technician (Swing Shift)Job Description This role offers an opportunity for a highly skilled electronics technician with a strong technical background to join a service-focused team. You will calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instruments and systems returned for service, often working in service support or metrology environments. The position requires troubleshooting down to the component level and contributing to high-quality, reliable measurement solutions for customers. Responsibilities + Perform precise calibrations using various primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in accordance with prescribed work instructions. + Prepare all required documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date records related to calibrations, repairs, and service activities. + Analyze calibration data and identify trends, communicating findings to the appropriate person or department to support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. + Escalate unusual or complex product issues to the appropriate department for further investigation and resolution. + Maintain all standards and M&TE in proper working order, ensuring they remain accurate, reliable, and ready for use. + In a laboratory setting, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair measurement equipment or components returned to the service center by customers. + Diagnose technical problems to the component level and implement effective repair solutions. + Perform maintenance services on a variety of electronic and measurement instruments to ensure optimal performance and reliability. + Follow established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards, including applicable metrology and ISO-related practices. + Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues, share knowledge, and support a positive, high-performance work environment. Essential Skills + Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics and electrical systems, gained through education or hands-on work. + Ability to troubleshoot to the component level on electronic and measurement equipment. + Experience working with test equipment, mechanical systems, and laboratory equipment. + Associate degree in Science with a focus in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another technical discipline. + Understanding of basic metrology concepts, preferably within an ISO-oriented environment. + Good written and verbal communication skills to document work clearly and communicate effectively with colleagues. + Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs to handle instruments, equipment, and related components safely. + Meticulous attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach to calibration and repair tasks. + Ability to work effectively in a team setting, demonstrating a positive attitude and strong collaboration skills. + Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn, adapt, and succeed in a technical service environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience troubleshooting electronic test equipment in a service or laboratory environment. + At least 6 months of experience using automated test systems. + Soldering experience for component-level repair and rework. + Familiarity with ISO-related practices and standards in metrology or calibration environments. + Previous experience in service support, metrology, or similar technical support roles is beneficial. Work Environment This role is based in a laboratory and service center environment focused on calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of measurement and electronic equipment. You will work with primary standards, measurement and test equipment (M&TE), electronic test equipment, automated test systems, and various lab instruments. The position follows a swing shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with the first two months dedicated to training on a 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. schedule. The work involves handling instruments and components that may weigh up to 50 lbs, and requires careful adherence to technical procedures, quality standards, and safety practices. The environment supports teamwork, continuous learning, and meticulous technical work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.40 - $32.40/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
