Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm
Starting Pay Rate: $16.00 hourly (Based on experience)

Position Summary:
The Call Center Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by managing high volumes of incoming calls, assisting callers with information and service requests, scheduling appointments, directing calls appropriately, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage high volumes of incoming telephone calls in a professional, courteous, and timely manner
- Identify caller needs, provide accurate information, and direct calls or messages to the appropriate department or staff member
- Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record and scheduling systems
- Maintain accurate records of caller information, contact details, and reasons for calling
- Follow established call handling procedures, phone scripts, and customer service standards
- Transfer calls appropriately and verify staff availability prior to transferring callers when possible
- Place callers on hold professionally, provide updates as needed, and ensure a positive caller experience
- Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral health emergencies according to organizational protocols
- Review customer eligibility or enrollment status prior to scheduling appointments when applicable
- Protect confidential information and comply with all organizational policies and procedures
- Interact professionally with customers, employees, community partners, and advocacy groups
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous call center, customer service, healthcare scheduling, or related experience preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple phone lines and a high volume of incoming calls
- Experience using electronic health record systems, scheduling software, or similar computer applications preferred
- Strong verbal communication, active listening, and customer service skills
- Ability to accurately collect, document, and maintain information and records. Follow established procedures, scripts, and company policies
- Knowledge of appointment scheduling practices and customer service principles
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond calmly under pressure
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Professional, positive, and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers, employees, and community partners
