In this role, youll install, service, program, and maintain CCTV surveillance, access control, intercom, and related electronic security systems at customer locations.

As a Camera and Access Technician, youll have the opportunity to work with a variety of electronic security technologies while continuing to strengthen your knowledge of networking, IP-based cameras, access control, video management software, and system troubleshooting. How Youll Make an Impact As a Camera and Access Technician, youll help ensure our customers electronic security systems are installed correctly, operating reliably, and ready to protect their people and property. In this role, you will:

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CCTV surveillance, access control, intercom, and related electronic security systems. Configure, program, and test IP cameras, access control panels, video management software (VMS), and related system components. Diagnose equipment and system issues using manufacturer specifications, diagnostic equipment, and your technical expertise. Perform functional testing, inspections, and system commissioning to verify proper system operation. Troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues related to electronic security systems. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications. Educate customers on the proper operation and basic maintenance of their security systems. Document service activities, repairs, programming changes, and customer interactions accurately. Coordinate with customers, dispatch, project managers, and other ADS departments to complete work efficiently and resolve service issues. Maintain company tools, equipment, vehicle, and inventory in a safe, organized, and professional manner. Follow company safety procedures, installation standards, and applicable industry codes and regulations. Participate in an on-call night rotation based on department staffing.

Background & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of2 years of electronic troubleshooting experience required. Minimum of 2 years of computer networking experience required. Electronics and/or computer training highly preferred. Understanding of fundamental electronics principles. Knowledge of computer networking, routing, switching, and LAN topologies. Experience configuring and troubleshooting IP-based cameras, access control systems, and related software. Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. Experience using digital and analog Volt/Amp/Ohm meters (VOMs) and other diagnostic tools.

Licenses & Requirements

Valid drivers license and ability to maintain an insurable driving record. Must be able to obtain a Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Ability to participate in the departments on-call rotation.

What to Expect on the Job This is an hands-on field position that requires travel to customer locations and the ability to work in a variety of environments throughout the year. You should be comfortable with:

Climbing ladders and operating boom/platform lifts. Working at heights of up to 50 feet on ladders or boom/platform lifts. Lifting and carrying 50-75 pounds. Pushing and pulling 50-75 pounds. Using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electronic equipment. Driving between customer locations throughout the workday. Working indoors and outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme temperatures. Working in environments ranging from offices to plants and manufacturing facilities. Following customer-specific safety requirements, which may include steel-toed boots, hair or beard nets, and specialized safety training.

Compensation Pay Range: $25.00-$30.00 per hour. Starting pay is based on knowledge, skills, certifications, education, and overall qualifications.
