At College Settlement Camp, you’ll spend your summer working with a diverse and welcoming team while helping provide healthy, enjoyable meals for children and staff in a beautiful camp setting.
Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and organizing food items
Cook and serve meals according to approved camp menus and recipes
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining area
Properly store, handle, and dispose of food in accordance with health and safety regulations
Operate kitchen equipment including grills, ovens, steam cookers, mixers, and microwaves
Assist with inventory, food orders, and supply organization
Work collaboratively with the Food Service Manager and kitchen team
Support special events including cookouts, barbeques, and picnics
Help create a positive, welcoming dining experience for campers and staff
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and recycling procedures
Other duties as assigned
Minimum of 1 year of experience in food service or a similar role preferred
Current ServSafe Certification preferred
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy kitchen environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or split shifts
Comfortable working in a diverse camp community
Positive attitude, patience, adaptability, and sense of humor
Desire to make a positive impact on youth and camp culture
Experience with large-scale meal preparation is a plus
