Waterfront Lifeguard:
This position will plan swimming activities at the camp's waterfront. This position will deliver swim activities that are safe, fun and appropriate to the camper's age and abilities and will assist in the management of the physical operation of the waterfront's facilities and equipment.
- Ensures that the American Camping Association (ACA) standards are followed
- Deliver a fun swim program to campers
- Instructs and enforces safety procedures, proper techniques and safe use of equipment
- Directs the administration of swim tests
- Performs lifeguard duties
- Supervises the use of kayaks and paddleboards
- Conducts a daily check of the area and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair - informing Camp Maintenance of any issues
- Cleans the waterfront area daily keeping it free of hazards and debris
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lifeguard storage area.
- Keeps the first aid kit updated and organized.
- Greets campers and parents upon arrival
- Supervises campers in restrooms/showers/cabins 3 times per week
- Reports any accidents or incidents to the Camp Coordinator and Camp Director
- Wears shoes when not on beachfront
- Is a role model to campers and staff in attitude and behavior. Follow and uphold all safety and security rules and procedures. Set a good example to campers and others in regard to general camp procedures and practices including sanitation, schedule and sportsmanship.
- Attends meetings and actively participates
- Assists with evening programs, campfire and leading songs; leads one evening per week
- Cleans, organizes and stores all equipment prior to weekends and at the end of the season.
- Assists in other areas of camp as needed.
- Completes end of season evaluation
- At least 18 years old
- 6 months experience working with youth
- 6 months experience in camping
- CPR/FA Certification for Adult, Child and Infant

Shifts Needed:
Overnight camp, may commute if local, shifts are Sunday through Friday
