If you love being outside, creating lifelong memories for children, and planning exciting activities - then we have the job for you! The Department of Parks and Recreation offers full-day camp programs for ages 6-14 throughout all of Prince William County to include indoor and outdoor adventures. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team.

Camp Programs:

Camp programs are generally offered Monday- Friday from 9a-5p, however due to our extended care program, there may be times when flexibility is necessary. Please note: employee hours are based upon camp enrollments and cannot be guaranteed.

Camp Counselor:

This position is responsible for the daily supervision of campers, daily activity planning, safety, and group management. Camp Counselors must be able to work within a team setting to accomplish program goals. Successful Camp Counselors are upbeat, decisive, and responsible, while giving campers a fun and safe camp experience. Organizational and strong leadership skills are a plus!

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma/G.E.D
• 18 years of age or older
• Must have 6 months experience working with children in structured settings/programs

Head Camp Counselor:

Head Camp Counselors should have experience working with parents and children and must be able to demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm and care for our programs and participants. Head Counselors work closely with camp managers to ensure camper and counselor safety. Individuals are expected to offer a high level of customer service and are responsible for activity implementation/coordination, supervision of staff, monitoring daily camp operations and administrative functions associated with implementing a camp program. Must be able to work within a team setting to accomplish program goals.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma/G.E.D
• 19 years of age or older
• Must have 1 year of experience working with children in structured settings/programs

• DMV records checks on all employees driving for work purposes
