About this opportunity:
As a dishwasher, your main responsibilities will be to maintain the cleanliness of dishes, the kitchen, and food preparation equipment and utensils. You will be a part of the camp kitchen and dining room team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition. • Mops the kitchen daily, following the evening meal, and mops the dish room after each meal. • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand after each meal. • Supports and participates enthusiastically as a team member in overall camp programming, special events, and evening activities, and other all-camp activities and camp functions as a part of a collaborative staff team. • Models Christian values and integrates faith into daily interactions, camper programs, and camp life.
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old and a high school graduate or GED preferred.
A heart for others and a mind towards Christ.
Should be self-motivated and teachable.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CPR & First Aid certified or capable of passing by June 15, 2026 (training provided by Camp Hoblitzelle during staff training if needed).
A willingness to abide by The Salvation Army doctrinal statement and Camp Hoblitzelles policies.
Must be able to pass a state and federal background check.
Additional Information:
Camp Staff Training will be held June 8 - June 14, 2026, and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program sessions will be held June 15 - July 26, 2026. If you are unable to work the entire season, please let us know on your application.
