YOUR IMPACT
The Camp Hope & Project Pathways Site Lead creates positive, nurturing relationships with children and staff, while building cooperative relationships with parents/caregivers. This position promotes and supports the potential of all youth in programs and facilitates peer-to-peer connections as part of the overall experience of Camp Hope America and Project Pathways programs.

WHAT YOUR DAY MAY LOOK LIKE
No two days are the same in this role — but every day centers on creating meaningful experiences where youth and families feel safe, supported, connected, and inspired through engaging monthly programs.

  • Lead and supervise children during monthly Project Pathways programs and activities
  • Plan and facilitate engaging experiences such as education, team-building, SEL, S.T.E.A.M., and family outings
  • Create culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate programs aligned with YMCA values
  • Prepare materials, participant information, training resources, and program supplies
  • Provide constant supervision to ensure participant safety during all activities
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff through strong communication and support
  • Serve as a positive YMCA role model by demonstrating core values in all interactions
  • Take ownership of concerns or challenges and resolve issues professionally
  • Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming program spaces and grounds
  • Attend trainings and staff meetings to stay prepared and informed
  • Follow YMCA policies, safety procedures, and American Camp Association standards

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION: 1 Position

Position 1: YMCA Camp Winnebago
Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Preferred afternoon, evening, and weekend availability
10 - 12 hours per month
*Schedule may vary and is based on programming needs
$17.00 per hour

ICJIA/Community - Based Violence Prevention and Intervention Program

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum age of 21 years old
  • Able to work with children between ages of 8-17
  • High school graduate or equivalent; one year or more of college preferred
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting
  • Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics and recreational games
  • Attend trauma-informed training upon hire
  • IL DCFS Child Abuse and Neglect/Mandated Reporter
  • CPR & First Aid/AED certification required upon hire
  • Current Praesidium Academy trainings required
