Come and join Professional Development for their upcoming 24th Annual Ren Camp! Spend eight weeks in and out of doors, exploring new ways to learn and have fun with campers while enhancing your resume. We work with rising 1st - 6th graders. This role requires Camp instructors to have the ability to create hands-on lesson plans, to alter plans to accommodate multiple age groups, and to be engaging.
East Tennessee State University's Office of Professional Development is seeking Tennessee's up-and-coming teachers, or anyone who is enthusiastic about working with children! We're looking for instructors in Science, Technology, Art, and Team Building. Instructor positions are for 32 hours a week with starting pay at $15/hour. This is a 4 day a week position with 8-hour shifts. All instructors will work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday and will be off either Wednesday or Thursday.
Camps run June 1st - July 31st, with the exception of the week of July 6th. There are daily activities from 7:45am - 5:00pm, and each shift worked is 8 hours long with an one-hour lunch break.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Team leadership skills - Ability to motivate, guide and direct a group of people
Conflict resolution skills - Skill to effectively identify, analyze and resolve disputes
Behavioral management skills - Proficiency to understand and manage the behavior of campers
Creativity - Resourcefulness in developing fun and engaging activities for campers
Patience - Calm demeanor in dealing with difficult or challenging situations
Required Qualifications
High school diploma
Previous work/volunteer experience with children
Preferred Qualifications
Has or is in the process of getting a degree in Education
Previous experience in the specialized field you would be instructing in
Compensation
Pay - $15/hour.
