Principal Responsibilities:Camp JCC Madrichim (counselors)are positive role models who supervise and engage campers, plan activities, and work as part of a team with a positive attitude, flexibility, and energy throughout each day.
Minimum Qualifications:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Protect the health and safety (emotional and physical) of allcampers
- Provide experiences that promote individual and groupgrowth
- Activelyparticipate in all aspects of the camp experience with the campers
- Serve as a role model for young children while emphasizing Jewishvalues
- Follow the assigned work schedule and specific camp groupschedule
- Plan andlead activities for group times,transition times, and other programs asdetermined by supervisor(s)
- Participate in all camper activities and interact with the campers during theseactivities
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
- At least a rising Junior in High School
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting. Desire and ability to work with children andteens
- Ability to relate to one's peergroup
- Ability to accept supervision andguidance
- CPR, First Aid and AED certifications arerequired. Theremaybe an opportunity to get these certificates in a pre-camptraining
- Mustpossess integrity, adaptability,enthusiasm,patience, thoughtfulness, and self-control
- Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, andsportsmanship
- Positive, "can do" attitude which isdemonstrated by a willingness to pitch in and help wherever needed as well as an ability toanticipate what is needed
- Must be physically able to work outdoors in different weather conditions, including heat.
Applicant must be available to work Monday through Friday, June 8 through August 14 (8 weeks of camp plus staff week) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Salary:Under $25,000
