Girl Scouts San Diego is seeking a compassionate Camper Advocate to support campers throughout their camp experience. In this role, you’ll partner with staff to ensure campers feel safe, included, and supported while enjoying all the fun of camp.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop individualized support plans for campers who may need behavioral guidance or social-emotional support.
  • Communicate with guardians and camp leadership staff to understand campers’ mental, social, and emotional needs.
  • Support counselors with strategies and program adaptations and respond to behaviors or situations as they arise.
  • Assist with facilitating fun aspects of camp like waterfront programming, arts & crafts, nature activities, and more.

Required Experience:

What You’ll Bring

  • Age 21+ by June 8, 2026.
  • BA/BS degree (or equivalent work experience) in the field of child development, inclusion, or social work; experience in an administrative or supervisory youth camp role is a plus.
  • Commitment to work entire camp season (June 8 - July 25, 2026).
  • Dedication to exhibiting exceptional patience, and ability to handle and resolve conflicts or issues with campers ages 7 to 17.
  • Adaptable team player who navigates stressful situations tactfully.
  • Comfortable working in an outdoor camp environment with variable weather and communal on-site living.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
