The Opportunity
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, being outdoors, and seeing the direct results of their work every day. As a Campground Maintenance Technician, you will own the day-to-day upkeep of our facilities, utilities, and equipment, helping ensure every guest has a safe and enjoyable experience.
You will handle a variety of tasks—from routine maintenance and repairs to seasonal preparations and guest support—making this a great opportunity to build and expand your skills in maintenance, groundskeeping, and facility operations.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and clean common areas including restrooms, showers, laundry rooms, pavilions, and recreational spaces so they are consistently safe, sanitary, and guest-ready.
- Inspect and care for outdoor spaces such as playgrounds, picnic areas, fire pits, and any beach or lakefront areas to keep them functional and attractive.
- Troubleshoot and complete minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair tasks across the campground facilities.
- Maintain water lines, sewer hookups, hydrants, and site utilities, including seasonal tasks like winterizing buildings and opening water systems.
- Operate and perform basic upkeep on maintenance equipment such as tractors, mowers, golf carts, skid steers, and chainsaws.
What Success Looks Like
- Within the first season, campground facilities and common areas are consistently clean, stocked, and in good working order, with minimal guest complaints related to maintenance.
- Maintenance requests from guests and staff are handled promptly and professionally, with clear communication and effective follow-through.
- Routine inspections help you spot and address small issues early, reducing downtime and preventing bigger repair problems.
- Seasonal openings and closings of buildings, water systems, and sites are completed on time, safely, and according to established procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in maintenance, groundskeeping, construction, or a related hands-on field, with basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools, and perform physical work including lifting 50+ lbs and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and a guest-friendly attitude when responding to site issues such as breaker resets, leaks, or clogs.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment, including availability on weekends, evenings, and holidays during peak season; pool maintenance experience is a plus.
