Summary
The Campus Activities Coordinator supports the Director of Campus Activities in the planning, coordination, and assessment of a comprehensive campus activities program that promotes student engagement, leadership development, and a vibrant campus community. The coordinator serves as the primary resource for registered student organizations, providing guidance on organization management, leadership development, university policies, and event planning. This position coordinates educational, cultural, and social programs that enhance student experience, fosters collaboration with campus and community partners, supervises student employees, and assists with program budgets, marketing, and event logistics. The coordinator is committed to creating meaningful co-curricular opportunities that support student success, retention, and a strong sense of belonging.
Duties
Serves as the university's resource person for all registered student organizations. 15%
Provides advice and counsel concerning membership programming, budgeting, problem solving, and interpretation of university policies for student organizations. 8%
Assists departments, student organizations, and off-campus groups in reserving University facilities. 5%
Serves on the homecoming committee as liaison to student organizations ensuring involvement in homecoming activities. 3%
Plan and execute student programming throughout the entire year. 43%
Provide leadership training for student organizations, student workers, and Campus Activities Board. 10%
Serves as resource for students seeking information about organizations. Informs students at orientation about student organizations and distributes interest results to campus organizations. 3%
Periodically updates lists of registered campus organizations and their advisors. Distributes organization lists to appropriate University offices. 3%
Maintains the student activities monthly calendar. Insures a strong promotion and timely advertisement for all activities. 5%
General clerical work as necessary. Serves on University committees as required. 5%
Other duties may be assigned to this position on a regular or occasional basis to respond to the needs of the university.
Key Competencies: (Knowledge Skills and Abilities)
Knowledge of sound, lighting and various audio-visual equipment, negotiating contracts, and event planning.
Physical Requirements:
This position is very active; there will be times where walking and standing for extended periods of time are required. Ability to lift 35 lbs. Lifting heavy items overhead as needed. Moving and setting up furniture in the University Center and other facilities (both indoor and outdoor). The role demands frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. Visual acuity is essential for reading and interpreting data on computer screens. Clear verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with colleagues and employees. Additionally, the job may involve occasional mobility around the office and attending meetings, as well as frequent travel to attend off-site meetings and trainings.
Working Conditions:
Office hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This role requires availability for evenings and some weekends.

This position is classified as Security-Sensitive and is thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094, which authorize employers to obtain and review criminal history record information for applicants.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
Any qualifications to be considered in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval of the Human Resources Director.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Noncampus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.
