Position Overview

The Veterinary Campus & Early Talent Program Lead plays a key role in executing and scaling PetVet Care Centers veterinary student, externship, internship, residency, and early-career DVM talent initiatives. A primary focus of this role is to support the development and centralization of externship, internship, and residency programs, driving consistency, improving pipeline visibility, and increasing conversion to full time hires.

Working in close partnership with the Senior Manager for Early Career DVM Recruitment and Mentorship, this role collaborates with veterinary schools, student organizations, and internal hospital leaders to attract, engage, and develop high-quality veterinary talent. The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on, build-and-scale environment, combing program coordination, relationship management, and operational execution to strengthen the early talent pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

Campus Recruitment & University Partnerships

  • Support the execution of a comprehensive & coordinated campus recruitment strategy across veterinary schools
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with veterinary colleges, faculty, career services teams, student chapters and clubs, and professional organizations
  • Plan, organize, and represent PetVet Care Centers at campus events, career fairs, and conferences
  • Help expand brand awareness and engagement among veterinary students and recent graduates
  • Assist in coordinating student ambassador or student representative programs

Externship, Internship, Residency, and Early Talent Program Execution & Centralization

  • Partner with the Senior Manager for Early Career DVM Recruitment and Mentorship to execute and scale the centralization of externship, mentorship, internship, and residency programs across hospitals
  • Support the development and rollout of standardized program components, including:
  • Program structure, clinical exposure, and duration
  • Learning objectives and student experience guidelines
  • Mentorship alignment and basic feedback processes
  • Coordinate a centralized intake, placement, and tracking process to improve efficiency and participant experience
  • Work with hospital leaders to support site participation, scheduling, and student placement
  • Help drive conversion efforts from extern intern full-time DVM by ensuring consistent engagement and handoff to recruiting teams
  • Monitor participation and feedback to identify opportunities for program improvement

Recruitment & Talent Pipeline Development

  • Support efforts to attract veterinary students and early-career DVMs into PetVet Care Centers'
  • Help maintain and engage a pipeline of students throughout their academic journey
  • Track prospect and candidate activity and engagement within the CRM/ATS systems
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on candidate follow-up and conversion activities

Event Planning & Program Experience (Including RISE program)

  • Lead coordination and execution of early talent events, including:

  • RISE retreats and new graduate programming

  • Student events, externship/mentorship cohorts, and networking experiences

  • Campus and virtual information sessions

  • Manage logistics end-to-end:

  • Scheduling, communications, and coordination

  • Vendor and venue support (as needed)

  • Participant experience and follow-up

  • Budget tracking

  • Support the creation of engaging event experiences that enhance prospect interest and pipeline conversion

  • Track participation and feedback to improve future programing

Employer Branding & Student Engagement

  • Partner with Recruitment Marketing to support development of student-focused content
  • Highlight externship, internship, and early career experiences through storytelling and campaigns
  • Assist in coordinating student engagement initiatives, webinars, and information sessions

Data, Reporting & Program Evaluation

  • Assist with tracking recruitment metrics including school engagement, applicant conversion rates, program participation, retention, and ROI
  • Analyze workforce trends and veterinary labor market data to assist with strategic planning

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with hospital teams, hospital operations, and recruiting to support program execution
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager for Early Career DVM Recruitment and Mentorship, to align activities with broader strategy
  • Ensure compliance with university guidelines and organizational policies

Qualifications (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, communications, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in campus recruiting, early talent, program coordination, or related field
  • Experience supporting externship, internship, or early career programs preferred
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to travel for campus events, conferences, and recruiting activities

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Campus recruiting experience within the veterinary or human healthcare services industry.

Pay Range

$90,000-$104,000 USD
