This assistantship gives practical experience to those interested in pursuing a career in recreation or athletics. The GA will learn about scheduling, facility management, and have the ability to practice leadership within the workplace. Students will have the opportunity to learn and practice their risk management and critical thinking skills in this fun, exciting position that works directly with hundreds of students per day.

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of the recreation and wellness programs, and therefore, should be skilled in organizing recreational sports and wellness programs that provides all North Central College students, staff, and faculty the opportunity to participate in wellness, recreation, team, or club sports while working collaboratively with coaches, athletic department administration, community education conferences and camps,

physical plant staff, building/grounds staff personnel, campus safety, student-workers, sport management interns, and residential life staff. They will assist in the evening and weekend supervision for intramurals, fitness classes, athletic contests, and special events.

Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

Detail-oriented and adept at managing tasks to meet deadlines effectively.

Demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Intermediate skills using Canva or other graphic design platform
