Position Description
Department: Campus Recreation Salary: $49,400-$56,200
Description:
Manages the day-to-day operations of a large university program or department, including the supervision of staff employees, student workers, programs or processes.
Plans and develops procedures for administering a large or complex department or program.
Manages fiscal activities, including procurement and budget analysis.
Provides guidance to subordinate staff and evaluates performance.
Prepares abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material and documentation.
Creates and reviews reports of expenditures and activities.
May administer grants and grant-related related communications, scholarships and other operations.
Develops, implements and maintains appropriate policies and procedures.
May serve as property custodian for the department.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Job Description: The Program Manage 2 - Outreach will assist with the development and execution of a comprehensive outreach plan to increase student engagement in Campus Recreation programs and services.
- Lead the planning and execution of high-impact outreach initiatives, including pop-up events, tabling activations, resource fairs, and department-led programs designed to increase student engagement and awareness of Campus Recreation programs.
- Coordinate and implement promotional events and signature experiences such as orientations, Weeks of Welcome, Family Weekend, Homecoming, and other campus-wide initiatives to strengthen visibility and participation.
- Contribute to planning and execution of student employee recognition programs and celebrations that support a positive team culture, enhance engagement, and reinforce a strengths-based work environment.
- Assist with the digital communication channels to engage constituents, monitor community feedback, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Coordinates with the digital distribution of operational updates, hours of operation, event schedules, and critical departmental announcements across public platforms.
- Assist with development, management, and execution of content strategies for departmental social media platforms, including creating engaging photo, video, and written content.
- Assist with creation of storytelling content (digital and print) to promote programs, events, and services, and share their impact on student success.
- Collaborate with campus partners and stakeholders to expand outreach efforts, build relationships, and represent Campus Recreation at resource fairs, presentations, and engagement opportunities.
- Supervise student staff supporting outreach and engagement efforts, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance feedback, and payroll oversight.
- Develop and deliver training for student employees on outreach strategies, customer engagement, and communication platforms.
- Monitor and assess outreach effectiveness from social media analytics, web metrics, and event participation data; provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Support program planning and ensure all outreach efforts align with departmental goals.
- Assist with budget planning and management for outreach initiatives, including forecasting, purchasing materials, and maintaining supplies.
- Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment during outreach efforts and events by addressing participant needs, feedback, and conduct in alignment with departmental values.
- Ensure effective operational management of outreach initiatives by maintaining accurate records, managing risk, and supporting contracts, policies, and reporting requirements.
