Job Summary

This position involves recruiting potential students of all ages and backgrounds to South Georgia State College from targeted areas to be assigned as well as assisting admissions during peak enrollment periods. Work involves frequent travel in the local region to attend college fairs, PROBE and visit students at regional high schools as well as meeting and forming relationships with high school counselors and regional business leadership, while exhibiting excellent customer service skills, platform and public speaking skills, telephone skills, accurate data entry skills and a high level of organization. The campus recruiter is also responsible for carrying out the steps outlined in the Colleges recruitment plan and showing enrollment growth in each semester. Position requires working non-standard work hours during evenings and weekends, as needed. These skills are required while supporting the mission and vision of South Georgia State College.

Responsibilities

Recruiting Students -

Actively recruits students through attendance at college fairs, PROBE fairs, high school visits, and direct communication, with a focus on regional recruitment and serve as a college representative at community events that can result in recruitment.

Relationship Building -

Builds relationships with students through emails, phone calls and direct mail in order to recruit them to the college and contacts high school counselors by using regular correspondence and visits and by ensuring that all high school counselors have accurate information about South Georgia State College and its programs.

Regional Business Collaboration -

Establish and maintain relationships with regional businesses through corporate partnerships which leads to adult learner recruitment.

Recruitment Strategies -

Implements strategies outlined in the Colleges recruitment plan, regularly develops new recruitment strategies to be presented to the Director for review and performs research or writes reports relating to the recruitment plan.

Recruitment Events -

Maintains responsibility for accountability as outlined by the Director and reports to work or recruitment events as scheduled.

Student Advising -

Advises students and public regarding College admissions, required paperwork and other information and maintains required student admissions records in paper form and/or in Banner (SGSCs Student Information System).

Recruiting Events -

Assists students, faculty, and staff at all locations with recruiting activities and events, etc.

Event Planning -

Organizes, schedules and performs campus tours for groups, including school-sponsored and community-based, and individual prospective students and their guests and assists in planning and implementation of recruitment activities such as Open Houses, Parent Nights, etc.

All Other Duties -

Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor

Proposed Salary

Proposed annual base pay $43,807.02 plus benefits.

This is a Non-Exempt position.
