Campus Safety Student Part-Time Position

Covenant Seminary's Campus Safety Team is currently seeking a student to join us part-time. The primary function of this job is unlocking public buildings on campus in the morning and locking up the buildings at night. Additionally, this role includes carrying an on-call phone. The phone is a 24/7 dispatcher service, provided by the Campus Safety Team. On days assigned to work on building security, the Campus Safety Student carries the dispatch phone to take phone calls and provide customer service to callers.DutiesOpening & closing buildings and rooms per daily schedule:Open buildings and rooms prior to staff and student arrival.Identify and report on any safety, security, or maintenance related issues discovered during rounds on the grounds or in buildings. Ensure HVAC is heating or cooling when walking through buildings.Lock up buildings at the close of the day, ensuring that students exit the building at closing time.Campus Safety Dispatcher: Take phone calls and reply to voicemail.Take information from caller and assure a response.Respond if it is relevant to your area of responsibility, or contact appropriate response agentProvide emergency response support when needed:Contact 911 for security concerns, Open Facilities for First Responder/Fire Personnel.Attend public safety training and drills as required.Basic RequirementsMUST LIVE ON CAMPUS while employed in this position.Clear communicator over the phone and in person.Observant of details and aware of surroundings.Maintains a courteous, customer service attitude.Availability Requirements2 to 3 days per week, both morning & evening shifts, for about 10 hours per week.Provide on-call accessibility during those 2 days of work (phone is provided).Pay: $16.00/hrTo Apply: Send resume and questions to Brian.skamra@covenantseminary.eduNOTE: A background check and driving record report will be required.
