Job Summary The Security Guard’s primary role is to secure the premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points. The security guard is responsible for ensuring only authorized persons access the premises and checking in guests. The security guard will coordinate with management and local law enforcement, when needed. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities · Control vehicular and pedestrian access to the campus by issuing temporary parking permits, visitor IDs, assisting with the visitor agreement form, and directing visitors to the appropriate office. · Patrol the property on foot to ensure all areas are secure and to monitor premises for theft, violence, or rule infractions. · Warn violators of property rules and regulations, and report suspicious or criminal activities to managers, requesting emergency personnel for high-risk situations. · Maintain logs for facility issues, incidents, and temperature checks, reporting any failures to managers. · Respond promptly to distress calls, alarms, and emergencies, addressing incidents swiftly and appropriately. · Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, guard access points, and secure facilities as required. · Complete daily reports with relevant information, observations, and surveillance footage. · Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Education and Experience Must have High School Diploma, or equivalent. 1 – 2 years’ experience as Gate Keeper Preferred Bilingual (English and Spanish) Preferred Skills and Abilities · Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. · Standing 8 to 12-hour per shifts and walking 2 to 4 hours per shifts. · Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. · Demonstrates a high level of customer service and communication and interpersonal skills. · Communicate efficiently with co-workers, drivers, visitors, and office personnel. |
