    Saint Joseph's College of Maine is hiring for the per diem position of Campus Store Assistant!

    POSITION DESCRIPTION: Supports the Campus Store by adhering to the highest level of quality, service, and cleanliness in the campus store; oversees opening and closing of campus store; supports inventory management, receiving and product rotation.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Adheres to the highest level of quality, customer service, and cleanliness in the campus store:

    • Cleaning counters, floors, glass, and keeping product full throughout the day for customer satisfaction
    • Monitoring retail labels and making sure items are priced correctly throughout the store
    • Ensuring merchandise is displayed consistently
    • Interacting with customers and filling customer orders
    • Anticipating customers' needs and offers support
    • Managing merchandise sales
    • Opening or closing cash procedures on cash register

    Oversees opening and closing of campus store by:

    • Opening doors, turning lights on and making the store ready for customers
    • Opening of cash register for daily sales
    • Closing cash register and counting of cash at the end of the day
    • Closing down store and making sure everything is secure and merchandise is locked up

    Supports inventory management, receiving and product rotation by:

    • Helps with monthly inventory
    • Works with vendors to receive product
    • May contact vendors for orders and / or questions
    • Rotates perishable products as necessary to make sure items are not expired

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma preferred
    • Retail store experience required
